Lesson 6: Oh....You DID Say Line Plot!

Mental Math

To start your day, begin by spending about 30 minutes playing one of the mental math games that are posted! You can find these under the tab in the top right hand corner labelled "Mental Math".

Online Gaming

Time to get back to line plots! To warm up, click the following link for your student to play with an interactive, online line plot. At the end of each game, it will ask if you would like to keep practicing this skill; you can continue to work on them for as long as you'd like!

Even More Line Plots!

After you and your student have finished the interactive line plot game online, we can move on to constructing another line plot of your own! If you and your student feel as though you could use a little refresher, you are encouraged to re-watch the line plot song and my guided video from the previous lesson! Below I have provided a chart with some filled in data and a blank line plot template to go with it. Use both the chart and the blank template (or a piece of paper to write on) to create a line plot about the age of Chloe's cousins!

Final Thoughts

After completing the line plot activity with your student, wrap up the lesson by talking to them about how they read line plots, and discuss the different kinds of strategies they use when they are asked question about the date presented in the line plot.
